The Pattern of Christian Worship

This lesson engages traditional Churches of Christ teaching on worshiping God in spirit and truth. First, the lesson demonstrates a typical way of presenting five worship activities as the pattern for Christian worship assemblies found in the New Testament. Then, the sermon looks at clear cases of God-given patterns in Scripture. It is then evident that there is no God-given pattern for Christian worship assemblies to be found in the New Testament. Finally, another way of understanding John 4:23-24 (worship "in spirit and truth") is suggested.
